Nicely summarized, ma'am. Thank you.

Yes, wind is "free;" so is solar. But most folks don't understand that the wind and sun aren't fuels. A fuel is energy storage, a product of its chemistry. Wind and solar offer potential energy which results from a moving fluid or a thermal gradient, but it must be harvested, rather than released.

And most folks don't understand that "fuel" is but one item that ultimately results in the cost of energy. Yes, the wind doesn't cost anything, but there is a tremendous cost of materials and resources required to convert that wind to useable electricity and move that product from the source of generation to the location of need. And the amount of those resources rises as the power density diminishes. Wind and solar are a thousand times less dense than gas and nuclear, meaning they require many, many more resources such as land, steel, concrete, minerals, and metals to produce an equivalent amount of energy.

I've seen the complaints that Trump is making energy expensive. It would be laughable if it weren't so dangerous.

Preaching to the choir, I know. All we can do is hope that the choir keeps increasing in size, in its vocal presence, and in its fervor!
