Sarah, Reliable generation (Fossil & Nuclear) cannot be replaced by solar and wind, and might not be replaceable with solar, wind and batteries or other storage. There is growing awareness of the necessity of storage and of the magnitude of the storage requirement. Of course, there might be Dispatchable Emission-Free Resources (DEFRs) at some time in the future, but then we wouldn't need wind and solar. ;-)

Ms. Montalbano, great work in 2024. You asked for suggestions, and I will offer you the same suggestion I've given EBBs, Doomberg, and Roger Pielke, Jr.

Secretary of Energy designate Chris Wright has published "Zero Energy Poverty by 2050 is a superior goal compared to Net Zero 2050."

1. How can we accomplish this?

2. What are the supply chain impacts?

3. What are the regulatory needs?

4. How can this goal be accomplished within the framework provided by the IRA? What changes, if any, are needed for that legislation?

5. Where are the needs the greatest?

6. Is this a federal effort, or a federal challenge to utilities and energy providers? In other words, are federal interventions required, and if so, to what extent?

Would be happy to discuss.

You are asking for more of a plan than anybody has for Net Zero. Good on you!

Thank you. I believe that talk is cheap and whisky costs money. All of this nut-zero talk never offered coherent or rational plans to meet the stated objectives. I am very curious to see if any of the energy bloggers dig into Wright's challenge.

May you have a safe, warm, and happy New Year, sir.
