Alas, this appears to be just another of many efforts by the current administration to take over all land management for whatever purposes they deem appropriate, as opposed to allow the people to manage land to best economic use go about their business. thanks for the update
The continued weaponization of the Executive Branch, aided and abetted by a derelict Congress.
Yesterday, I suggested that Ms. Hoffman brush up on her "old movies" by watching "Inherit the Wind," with Spencer Tracy and Fredric March (two giants in film history). The movie is about the Scopes "Monkey" Trial, which occurred in 1925, and questioned the teaching of Darwin's Theory of Evolution in the State of Tennessee. There is a line in that movie that eloquently states today's regulatory environment:
I say that you cannot administer a wicked law impartially. You can only destroy; you can only punish. And I warn you, that a wicked law, like cholera, destroys everyone it touches. Its upholders as well as its defiers…Because fanaticism and ignorance are forever busy, and need feeding.
Given that many voters are "convinced" that climate change is existential, I would hypothesize that fanaticism and ignorance remain, to this day, forever busy and in need of feeding.
